Hello Experts,
Please let me know if this is possible.
Customer places an order for 10 items. I have a capacity to manufacture 4 items in house and the remaining 6 items I want to purchase and the send all 10 to the customer.
Do you have an idea how can i accomplish this in SAP?
Can I create production order for all 10 and then create subcontracting order for 6 items and confirm 4 production orders and manufacture them in house?
If this is possible, can you give me the transaction codes and settings.
Thanks,
Pratibha.
Hi Prathibha,
Hope you are referring to a single material with 10 Quantity, if so this can be done by running MRP
which will create Planned order.
Convert Planned order to production order for which you have inhouse possibility and convert Planned order to Purchase order for which you want to get from vendor
you can configure Planning run type such a way which can fulfil Production and Purchase order
Please also take help of your PP guys in setting up planning run
thanks

Hi Vemuri,
Thanks for your suggestion.
This is what I did
1. Created a sales order for 2 quantity for an item.
2. Ran MRP and crated planned orders via md01
3. This created one planned order for 2 quantiy.
4. Used CO40 to convert planned order to production order for 1 quantity.
5. Used md14 to convert planned order to purchase order . At this point i get an error "Material not maintained by purchasing".
Can you please give me some details as to how to set a material in a way that I can purchase and producethe same material depending on the capacity.
Thanks,
Pratibha.
