RFC Destination 500 internal error

Former Member

Hello Experts,

Pardon me for asking a basic question.

We have installed a new SAP PI 7.4 Java only. As part of proxy connection enablement from ECC to PI, I have followed below blog of Michael.

http://scn.sap.com/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2012/01/19/michals-pi-tips-how-do-you-activate-abap-...

The RFC destination SAP_PROXY_ESR is working fine when did "connection test". But the other RFC destination "PI_AAE" is failing with "500 internal server error". Performed "SLDCHECK" and everything is fine.

Could you please help in debugging and identifying the issue

Thanks,

NJ

Hi,

Now we are facing the similar issue. Unfortunately the link is not available now:

Would you please let me know where I can get this blog? Thanks a lot.

Best regards,

Hello Guys.

This issue is resolved. I post installation configuration steps were not performed completely. That caused this issue. We have redone the same and the issue is resolved.

Thanks for your help.

hello Everyone,

When I have executed the program "SPROX_CHECK_IFR_ADDRESS",  I am getting the below error "An error has occurred during communication with ESR".

But the RFC destination SAP_PROXY_ESR is working fine with "connection test". And the configuration is below

i suggest you debug standard report and put a breakpoint at each message, to detect the exactly point...

Good luck!

Hi NJ,

Below link may help you.

They said "Issue is resolved by chnaging the service user from PIAPPLUSER to PIAPPL<SID> in integration  server directory connection in sm59."

The user has initial pwd? Sometimes with proxies this is a handicap.

Hello ,

Can you please check some last things ,

That your target host is correct? Please check your target host with BASIS team.

Try changing the service No./Port to 50000 instead of 50100 to see if it works.

Apart from that i do not see any issues.

The Host:Port combination URL should work on the browser.

Thanks

Hello,

Have you also configured the AEX destination name in SXMB_ADM transaction?

Did you configure the user authentication?(logon and security tab)

You need to configure the user "PIAPPLUSER" or any user with "SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER" role

I assume you have configured the correct port number.

Hi Hareesh,

Thanks for the reply. The user has necessary roles assigned and port is correct. Moreover same user is used for SAP_PROXY_ESR and it is working fine.

Any ideas?

Hi N J

Can you share the screenshots of the PI_AAE destination (provide all the different tabs), and also the screenshot of the error log when connection test is performed?

Hello Eng Swee,

Sorry for the delayed response. I was trying different options to solve the error. But nothing worked out. Below are the screenshots you have asked for.

The user PIAPPLXS2 was assinged below roles:

SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER

SAP_XI_IR_SERV_USER

SAP_XI_IS_SERV_USER

Hello ,

Can you please try the URL on your internet explorer. If it shows 500 internal server error then contact Basis team .

http://TargetHost:50100/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?ximessage=true

Thanks

Hello Gaurav,

Thanks for the option. I am getting same error when open the URL in browser. I have tried the option already. Our BASIS can't able to find the solution. So came to SCN.

Any suggestions please?
