HI All,
We are in the process of shifting to the new domain since our Production system Windows 2008 r2 MSCS. we need to build the system with system copy. Were IT will be providing the new ip range. My question is Can we change the virtual IP of sap group after installing the new system in mscs.
At the time of actual cutover.Since all the Gui at the user end is configured with Virtual ip.g
Please suggested.
Regards
Ali.
Hi Ali
I think it is possible to change the Virtual IP address of SAPGRP. (Not on Host name of SAP group)
1. Before changing the IP (Not on host name of SAP group) you have to stop SAP/ DB & make sure that the group (SAP & DB) offline.
2. Remove all the old IP address enter in all DNS servers and if you are added any host file enters in server & any client in the LAN
During the time of change the IP use the Domain administrator user id
3. Once the IP changed in SAP group. Before starting the SAP system check the DNS resolution from the SAP virtual name to new IP & FQDN
4. Before releasing the system to end user check the SAP system over all
5. Refer the Microsoft link - Change the IP Address of a Failover Cluster Instance
