Hello Guru's,
I would like to test Lumira capabilities on top of BW queries.
I doawloaded latest Lumira version (1.19.0 build 1099) and try a connection to BW system:
Lumira seems to connect correctly, but I can't see any infoarea or roles.
Did you experience the same problem and how have solved this issue ?
Thanks.
Freddy.

Hello Tammy,
Thanks for your quick answer.
I checked what is mentionned in the related discussion but it doesn't match with my problem I think.
The BW system I tested is not a HANA system, but a classic one.
An another side, the connection provided by saplogon.ini function well with other tools like advanced analysis or design studio.
I will try to see if i can trace the connection.
Any other ideas or potential solution ?
Thanks.
Freddy.
Hello,
I traced the application and did not find any relevant errors.
As this is a test licence, I guess i will not receive any support from SAP.
I'm a little bit disappointed not to be able to test it on BW (not Hana) queries...
Is is a bug that will be solved in next patchs or Lumira cannot access BW not Hana ?
Thanks.
Freddy.
BW connectivity in the Personal Edition (free version) is only supported for the trial period (30 days). But the actual functionality while the trial period is valid should have the same level of support. The only thing is that the 30 day trial does not come with the support and maintenance SLA.
But you can always contact support.lumira@sap.com
If you are also evaluating Lumira for future paid license opportunity I am sure we can find a way to help.
I will forward this to a couple of folks within SAP and see if anyone can assist.
Thanks
Hello Sharon,
Thanks for your help.
I will try a contact with the support and see if they can help me.
As responsible of a SAP Competence center and BI consultant in the past, I'm evaluating SAP Lumira in response to other people in my company that are pushing for user of Qlikview.
That's why I currently cannot say that I will for sure purchase it...
Best regards.
Thanks Freddy. We have exciting plans for BW in 2015. Our BW functionality in Lumira today may have limitations but with what we are planning in the next couple of quarters, there is no way Qlikview can be better. Please let us know if you are willing to share your business's use case and we can have a session on our road map to make sure you have the information to make a decision that will last.
Hello Sharaon,
Good to hear that exciting plans are on the track ! My objective is effectively ti show that Lumira is a best solution.
As far as I can see in my system data on service.sap.com, I have well the licence for Lumira in ly BI suite. That's also a good news. I will thus the standard OSS way to solve my problem.
Anyway, mant thanks for your help.
A last question, where can I find the future evolution of Lumira ?
Best regards.
Freddy.
Hello,
I took contact with Lumira support yesterday evening and this morning the answer was there and the problem is solved
Many thanks to those people for their very quick answer !!!
Here is the solution provided (missing environment variable even if connection works) :
"
Double check your settings under SAP Logon options. The
SAPLOGON_INI_FILE environment variable should be set to the desired location
within your advanced system settings. Lumira should read this.
Advanced System Settings:
And so, problemn solved.
