Hi All
Does IQ include IQ_system_main size in the VLDB license calculation?
If you do an iq_dbspace you would get something like this
DBSpaceName,DBSpaceType,Totalsize
'IQ_SYSTEM_MAIN','MAIN','80G'
'iq_main','MAIN','3.28T'
'iq_workspace','MAIN','240G'
From the output is seems IQ_SYSTEM_MAIN is considered a main space

It includes all main stores. We cannot exclude system main since there is no way to prevent users from putting data there. We can via DBA work and options, but that is much different than having SYSAM protect it.
Also, system main, if the customer follows basic sizing guidelines, is not a large area. Since the VLDB license is done on the terabyte boundary, your example above would not change the licensing aspects. They would need 4 TB licenses for VLDB regardless of system main being included or not.
Certainly, there could be a fringe case where they would have, for example, 3.95TB of main store and 100gb of system main thus pushing them from a 4 TB to a 5 TB license. But this is so rare...
