Security Strategies for Lumira

Hi

What are some best practices & strategies for Lumira secuirity setup? 

Our environment consists of Lumira desktop, Bw/hana and enterprise hana, along with BO 4.1..  

Combinations being reviewed internally are:

1. Lumira Server running in HANA, consuming hana views directly & publishing content to BO 4.1 Platform for insights = leverage HANA security roles
2. Lumira Server running in HANA, consuming BO Universes & publishing content to BO 4.1 Platform for insights = leverage BO universe security

There might be others - any recommendations?   to date, we've deployed locally on machines and proven out autonomous use cases by function and realized business value quickly, but now are constrained in wider adoption & insights.

Hi,

Yes, you are definitely on the right tracks.

a couple of other touch points that you may want to consider:

- You will have BW users, with SAP roles & infoareas

- you will have Hana users, with roles, packages & analytical privileges

- you will have BO/BI users, with folder accesses & application rights

Another data access  you may want to consider: 

- BO universes on top of multiple HANA views. 

Also, if you are using BI Add-On for Lumira server,

- you can use 'desktop governance' to restrict what the Lumira desktop user can do.
