what is the difference of stock type X and 2

Hi all,

When creating PO, the stock type was defaulted as X Quality inspection. When making GR, the stock type was 2 Quality inspection. Checking the material document in MB03, it shows the stock type is X. My question is: what is the difference between stock type X and 2? how was it determined during PO creation and GR?

Due to earlier release levels, there are two valid values (each with the same effect) for each stock type.

Possible stock types are:

o   unrestricted-use stock (blank, F)

o   stock in quality inspection (X, 2)

o   blocked stock (S, 3)
