Can Inspection Lot Origin 01 be changed after receipt?

We partially set up QM requirements for a material we shipped to another plant before catching it was incomplete.  An 06 inspection type should have been the only type, but several other inspection types were pre-loaded in MM02 in error.  None had inspection plans, tasks or characteristics assigned.

The long-term process wanted is for it to go to inspection stock, but release through MB1B. Is there a way to do a simple UD out of 01 without fully setting it up?  To me, I'd think we'd want the 01 anyhow for this very reason of 101 movement type purchase order receipts. But I'm new to this topic.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

For system not to create Inspection lot and material to go to Quality stock, later to move it to

unrestricted using MB1B , you can deactivate inspection type in the material master

and while creating purchase order use Stock Type QI stock in the delivery tab of PO , this way it will

default to MIGO while Goods receipt material will be posted to QI stock and you can move it with

MB1B 321 , no UD required, no lot wil be created.

If you have inspection type set up in material master and checked inspection with task list for that

inspection type you will need to create Q-Plan and assign it to Inspection Lot and complete results

recording and UD

To do only UD without results recording you can remove the check results recording from the control

indicators of the characteristics assigned to the operation in inspection plan

Hope this will help

Thanks

Hi Susan,

yes u can do like as Diwaker said, but any change regarding inspection type or else, if material stock present in system storage location then u have to make zero stock then u r able to change whatever u want in inspection type.

best regards,

Amit Awasthi.

Thank you Diwaker and Amit.  Am very glad for both of your comments. Does zero stock mean literally no inventory, or no inventory in a quality status?

To review the plan:

1) Make zero stock.  To do this...

2) Set up QPlan and assign to inspection lot.

3) Process goods to unrestricted.

4) Wait for goods to clear out of the warehouse(?)

5) Correct Inspection Types in master data before new receipts.

Not necessary to zero out stock, you can use QA08 transaction, enter plant material, select

deactivate inspection type tab, enter Inspection type to be deactivated do not select any other

check box, execute, you will be taken to next screen, selec the line and save, you inspection

type is deactivated

You can do UD of existing lot, before or after this action does not matter

Thanks
