Dear Folks,
In the transaction SPRO i find two kinds of check access
1. for files in the file system and
2 . for stored files . what is the difference between them .
can XI carry out both XMl-based archiving and ADK based archiving.
is it necessary that the archiving directory should be present in the XI server itself or can it be present on some other machines in the network.
any kind of suggestion would be helpful .
thanks & regards,
Rahul.
Hi Rahul,
a) the check for access: Basically this option (if ticked) checks for the access (availability) of the particular archive file. If available, then you can select the particular file (or archive session) for performing some action (for example in deletion run)
1. for files in file system : this scenario is applicable when you have archived your data into file system and the archive files reside on the file system (in other words, you are not using any content server)
2. for stored files : this is applicable when you have stored your archive files into some external content server using archivelink (or http content server)
As far as I know, its only XML based.
archiving directory can be present anywhere, just that you should be able to access it with proper permissions (for example a mapped drive)
hope this helps,
Naveen
