How to calculate abap/buffersize?

Former Member

Hello experts,

I've searched everywhere but can't find any documentation/guildelines for calculating the ABAP buffersize. I've found notes and guidelines with memory management, however, abap/buffersize is never mentioned in these.

We have a R/3 system (nw 7.3) with 32 GB RAM. We're not using zero memory management.

Please advice!

Regads,

M.

Hi,

regarding abap/buffersize calculation please check this note:

212902 - Calculated shared memory pool is too small

However it would be important info: which OP system and  which kernel release do you have,

Hi Moye,

There is no standard benchmark for parameter abap/buffersize.

With 32 GB RAM I would suggest to have abap/buffersize = 800000 as an initial value.

Based on utilization you may further fine tune this value .
