Unlocking users can be done using batch jobs and function modules running on a daily basis.

This can be a "S_WAP_USER_PASSWORD_RESET" functional module or any other(not sure which one)

For a vanilla ABAP system, you can ask your abaper to write code a custom report to call such function module through background job and this same job will send email with the generated password to the affected users.

You may do it @ DB level, user password are there in USR02 table, for SAP applications you shd make any changes at SAP level only if not possible then go for DB level. SAP recommends changes to be done at SAP level only.

Hi Hemant,

What is the problem ?

To change password from any user, logon with any authorized user ID, goto SU01 and give the ID of user for which you want to change password to lock/unlock user and do it.

Hi Hemant,

The password you provide after the reset to user is the initial password.

So, even you know, once the user logs on to SAP with the initial password, he is promoted to reset it.

And that is something the user has to do, so  no worries for you.

Hi Hemanth,

You can do it from SU10 and give username which you want to reset the password.

Thanks,
