SAP installation in phase 30 of 34 - Check DDIC Password

Hi SAP Gurus.

Good day, I'm facing problem when installing SAP ECC 6.0 EHP7 (IDES Version). Its stucked in phase 30 of 35 Check DDIC Password.

Below are the error details:-

ECC Message Box

        Unable to open RFC connection to SAP System ECC. 

SOLUTION: Start the system.    

Then I checked the SAP MMC Console, disp+work.exe stopped.

Hi Jay,

Is the issue resolved? The screenshot you paste here says your oracle is up.

Can you check if the Listener is up and Running?

Please log-in with orasid user and give the command

lsnrctl start

It should return "The Command completed Successfully"

Check Listener status with "lsnrctl status" command

Again start your oracle if needed and then with sidadm user, check the output of R3trans -d as suggested above.

Hi Jay,

Follow the below steps :

1. sqlplus /nolog

   sql> connect /as sysdba

   sql> startup

Then retry the steps in sapinst.If it fails again. Then paste the output of the below command

1. echo $ORACLE_HOME

2. echo $ORACLE_SID

3. ps -ef|grep smon

You also need to set up SSFS configuration

I had gone the the link, but the SSFS configuration in the link was based on OS AIX 6.1 but I'm installing it on Windows 7 64 bit.

Do you know the SSFS configuration for Wndow 7 64 bit?

Few checks you need to perform

1) Ensure hosts file on the server is updated with right hostnames

2) Check whether you are able to connect to database using R3trans -d . It it fails share trans.log file

1) You have shared instance profile. I need you to check host file located under C:\drive.

Open  start-> run  and type drivers

Go to etc-> hosts.

Check whether correct entries are maintained here

2) Login with sidadm user and open command prompt.

    type R3trans -d

   share the output.

Hi Jay,

From the logs it looks like DB is not running.

Stop SAP application.

Please login with sidadm

execute sqlplus

SQL> startup

ensure database is started and opened. Start SAP application and check the results.
