SAP GUI 7.40 crashes

Hello,

I am testing the new GUI 7.40 today. There seems to be a problem with transaction PFCG and the new Blue Crystal Theme. After starting transaction code PFCG all GUI 7.40 windows disappear... If I reproduce the error in NWBC 5 a text is shown to read note 520688. I cannot find any error log and the GUI is the newest version.

The GUI does not crash, if I use Corbu Theme or Signature Theme and start PFCG.

Is EhP 6 or 7 required?

which is your OS

check sp pack of os that support GUI7.4 or not\

better you remove it uninstall it and reinstall the process it will work

OS is Win7 32-Bit Professional SP1, so it should be supported.

Hi, problem solved for me following this steps:

1. Uninstall SAP GUI 7.4

2. Delete folder c:\Users\Leonardo\AppData\Roaming\SAP

3. Install SAP GUI 7.4

4. Create connections entries from scratch.

I too have the issue.

It worked fine initially but today it seems corrupt.

My workaround is to remove:

SAPUILandscape.xml

SAPUILandscapeGlobal.xml

Keep saplogon.ini and then start sapgui which then generates the  SAPUILandscape.xml files again.

Will try to set a read only flag to prevent them from being destroyed until fix from SAP comes.

part two did not help, but deleting also a file called SapRules in this directory and deleting the directories

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\SAP GUI\Docking

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\SAP GUI\History

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\SAP GUI\LocalTabOrder

did it.

I guess part one would solve the problem. But you loose a lot of settings like the settings of ABAP Editor...

Update:

Using NWBC5 lets the problem with PFCG return. GUI crashes again.

Delete these directories:

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\SAP GUI\Docking

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\SAP GUI\History

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\SAP GUI\LocalTabOrder

and everything works again...

But for the moment I will uninstall 7.40 and NWBC5 and use 7.30 and NWBC4 again.

Deleted the directories and switched the theme to Corbu, worked for me.

But I miss Blue Crystal theme .

It worked for me also, i was facing this issue on ABAP Editor. So i just removed the above folders and renamed below files without uninstalling GUI 7.40.

SAPUILandscape.xml

SAPUILandscapeGlobal.xml

I have the same problem (TA: SWDD), Win10, Gui740 PL5 with EHP4, SAP-BASIS 701-16, SAP-ABA 701-16 with the Corbu themes -> no problem!

Had the same issue. PFCG closing out SAP GUI.

Options > Restore Defaults Worked (i had changed some fonts)

tested it in all themes - Signature / Corbu and BC.

Win 8.1 / GUI 7.4

The same happens on transaction SWDD. I just changed to Corbu theme and it works well.

Corbu theme didn't work for me, the client kept crashing.

I deleted the directories and it helped. Unfortunately without using NWBC the Problem reappeared after 2-3 hours. To avoid deleting directories three times a day I had to wwitch to one of the classic themes (I picked 'Streamline').

With that there are no Problems so far. Really strange that the Problem persists since 4 months and no patch is available.

I am also using Win 7.

It seems the way back to 7.30 is the best at the moment. The list of problems is growing:

I could reproduce some of the listed errors.
