hi experts , How do we perform hana revision patch from 74 to 82 on High availability environment with async replication mode activated . Do we need to disable the replication before start to revision patching on Primary site ?

Yes. Disable the replication before start to revision patching
When upgrading a HA system, secondary site should be upgraded first because we support System Replication from to equal or higher revisions, not lower. After upgrading the secondary site, primary site can be ugpraded.
Backup Primary.
1. Stop primary
2. Stop secondary
3. Upgrade Secondary
4. Upgrade Primary

Hi,
well, you do not really have to DISABLE the system replication.
Please have a look at this documentation on Near Zero Downtime Upgrade with SAP HANA System replication: http://help.sap.com/hana/SAP_HANA_Administration_Guide_en.pdf#page=398 section: Use system replication for near zero downtime upgrades.
Kind regards,
Mechthild
