Could anyone please tell me whats the use of this?
Where we can use this particular option? Been trying to figure out without much luck.

Hi Karthikeya,
When you are in edit mode and try to move the controls around then it aligns to grid (small dot matrix on the background visible in dark background colors) when you drop the control. But in some cases you might want place the control between the grid points in which case you can disable snap-to-grid and do it.
