Validating symbols used in microsoft word document

Hi Experts,

There is strange requirement in PI where text copied from microsoft word with symbols like #~₦②© is getting failed in message mapping saying Special character with unicode (0-1) not allowed in xml.

Is there any method of filtering these symbols of MS word or handling these symbols differently in SAP PI. This requirement is different from special symbols (regular expression entered from key board) kindly note.

Anybody having any idea of handling such symbols kingly suggest.

Hi Neeraj,

Please explain your scenario more because microsoft word doesn't store the text like a plain text, it is nearest to binary file then i dont know how you can access it to do a map.

Hi Inaki,

Scenario is simple I have an outbound interface where I have a long text field where text is getting passed, issue is user are entering the text field copying the text from MS word, now if symbols sued in MS word are different from those present in keyboard, hence when the interface gets triggered mapping fails in the long text field  Special character with unicode (0-1) not allowed in xml. My requirement is there any method to overcome this error in message mapping using UDFs or through simple graphical mapping

Hello Neeraj,

In case you are using a file sender adapter, try using a different encoding mechanism.
