MSSQL DB version 10.50 and SAP version 7.40

Hello All,

I am upgrade SAP GETWAY server to 7.40 version, I get this error the DB version 10.50 is too LOW for this upgrade.

Do we need to have mssql DB version 11 for all SAP installation version 7.40? I have plan to install SAP PO version 7.40, do I need to have mssql version 11 for this too or 10.50 is OK?

MS SQL Server 2012 (see also SAP note 62988)

Therefore, it is strongly recommended to use those minimal releases for new projects that require SAP NetWeaver 7.4.

Better to upgrade before starting the installation

But as I can see the minimums this can be DB MSSQL version 11, for  Net Weaver 7.4.

Hi Reza,

Hope you are doing good.
I think the issue is that if installation of  7.4...SP08 happens, then MS SQL Server 2012 is needed. But for older versions, version 11 should suffice.

So, it depends on the level that you wish to go for. The best option would be to use MS SQL Server 2012 so that in future an upgrade is not needed .
