PI adapter metadata showing 2 software component versions after upgrade

We upgraded SAP PI from 7.30 sp7 to 7.31 sp13. Now, in the Integration Builder the Communication Channel Software component shows both the 7.30 and 7.31 versions. Is this a normal behaviour or is there further post upgrade steps I need to do?

Hello,

It seems that ur Basis team has not deleted old "SAP BASIS" component (related to  7.30) post upgrade.

Go to ESR -> Search for SAP Basis component -> under that u will find two SWCVs (one for 7.30 and the other one for 7.31).

But having said so, it won't have any impact even if u don't remove it. But u have to just make sure that u select 7.31 adapter metadata while creating Communication channels.

Hi Amit,

Thanks for the insight. I having been trying to find an SAP recommended best practice document for this. In the meantime, we have decided to retain both the 7.30 and 7.31 and choose the 7.31 adapter metadata as you suggested in any development going forward.
