Hi Team,
I have started working for a client which has historically deactivated Cost Center accounting.
My question to the team is what is the challenge we could face if we activate cost center accounting in the middle of the fiscal year if at all we will be able to do the same.
If you have any such previous experience please share your thoughts.
Thankyou for your time.
Regards
Surojit
Hello Rout,
Is your client have any of CO sub-modules activated already ??

Ok fine then,
As your scenario is really exceptionnal for me.
I think it is possible to activate it in the middle of the year, because you already have some CO customizing done,
you will need to add some customizing for cost elements and cost centers.
then create some master data, cost element and cost center essentially.
chalenges will be that you can not use the Cost center reporting to analyze the complete year.
but what will be new for your users (and interfaces if any) is that cost center may become mandatory for posting with some cost elements.
Hi Surojit,
If there are already postings made to COPA, then I don't think it is possible to activate cost center accounting. If the G/L accounts are made cost elements, then posting is required to be made to CCA. I would like to how do you report to the top management?
As per my knowledge we cannot activate CCA in the middle of the year.
