Problem with Logon after patching SAP Gui 7.30

Hello together,

we patched our SAP Gui from 7.30 PL 2 to PL 9.

Now, we have on some PCs the following Problem:

The User can open the Logon Pad. But when he chooses an Entry to a system, the Logon Pad closes immidiately without accessing to the System.

The problem only occurs on some Users local PC.

Also they have Solid Works on their PC. The connection from Solid Works to SAP also doesn't work.

But there comes an Error Message, here is the german text:

"Die Verbindung zum SAP Applikationsserver wurde beendet, Sie müssen sich neu anmelden!"

Also there is a detailed log:

***

MenuSAPLogin

RFC CallReceive Error:

Did anyone had a similar problem and knows how to fix it?

Hi Sascha,

Did you get a resolution to this issue?

I am having a similar issue when I patch Logon Pad 7.30 with PL 13/14 or 15,

It is happening on only one workstation at present, although we have seen it once or twice before but a reinstall tends to have fixed it in those cases,

Thanks,

Nigel

9 times out of 10, a issue with small or single groups of users are fixed with a reinstall of the

SAPgui.

For these type of issues, first try a reinstall of the gui and run the install check to ensure there are

no errors once the install has been completed.

You can check this by running the "nwcheckworkstation" command from the run menu in Windows OS

Even if no errors are reported, for issues for one user is affected, a reinstall would be the first step.

Thanks Jude,

I had done the reinstall and left it at Vanilla 7.30, tried the nwcheckworkstation and it came back OK,

I have done some research since and it is possibly a DLL issue as opposed to a SAP issue.

The workstation was recently imaged with a standard image, other workstations are not affected that have the same image applied,

I will try to update to the patch in the next few days and run nwcheckworkstation see if it has any errors.

There is no dumps etc created in SAP, so I am not expecting to get more information and I am more looking at the image as opposed to the Application,

I will reinstall the original OS, I will let you know if this fixes the issue,

Best Regards,

Nigel

Hello Sascha,

I would suggest that you open an incident in component BC-FES-GUI and provide a "SAP Logon Trace" : Open SAP Logon -> options -> Traces -> SAP Logon Traces -> Activate with full mode and replicate the problem..

Kind regards,
