Archive Link connection error

Former Member

Hi Team,

In PP_ORDER , storage job is getting failed. I guess the RFC issue is stopping this.

Our criteria is we need to store the files with in the same server ( ECC OS level).

We have configured as per the below screen, while we check the connection the RFC is failing.

Experts could you help me on this issue.

Thank you

Nani

For the RFC to work there must be a corresponding service or deamon running on your archive server.

If you Archive server is a Windows Server, there must be running a Windows Service

with the name sapprd.srvlink, this service must be calling a program that establish the connection with your ECC.

You need to start looking on the other end.

Hi Henry,

Thanks a lot for the info, how to get the service like sapprd.srvlink in OS level.

Do i need to install any setup file. Kindly suggest.

Appreciate your help in advance.

well i al not sure what archiving solution you are using... So you might need to look on the archiving solution documentation, at first go to srvlink if this is not the hostname look into the sm59 for a rfc named like this and find the hostname... After that logon into that server and go into the windows server and try to find a service with a related server name... if you are working with open text archive server you will need tha administration console in your PC to do this config

Hi Henry,

Earlier in our RFC connection SRVLINK was named a program id as something like srvlink .

since the connection was not successful , we have changed it manually. our storage server is with in the same application server. There is no separate content server.

Hi Nani,

Check the rfc SRVLINK in sm59 and do connection test.

Paste the error out here and also do paste the dev_rd log file from work directory.

Hi Ashutosh,

Thanks for the quick reply, We have maintained the RFC connection in TCP/IP.

But im still confused to maintain the program ID, which one i need to register. because we need with in the server. so which connection i need to maintain??

Find the logs

Hi Nani,

Check whether the destination for storage and archiving are accessible from the host or not.

and also maintain the output device for the same.

Hi Nani,

We don't know which storage(eg FileNet or Commomstore server) you are using and that storage type must have a configuration file or exe file which has to be running on the archiving server (has mentioned by Henry).

Moreover , the archiver server must have some configuration file which should contain a PROGID value similar to Program ID of your RFC SRVLINK

Its better to compare the same with the other content repository configuration which has been done in your landscape in past

So ,You need to provide the same Progarm ID in your rfc SRVLINK to make it work
