Active Directory Authentication - SAP Afaria SP5

Dear All,

As the new patch release of Afaria is out, we installed the SP5 with the latest hotfix on our Afaria Server. We were running SP4 prior to the upgrade.

For enrollment process, we were using authentication with the Active Directory. During upgrade of SP5, for the enrollment server component, it didnt ask for the type of authentication like in the prior versions like Windows/Afaria Managed or no authentication.

The issue we started to face is when the user enters the enrollment code, it takes it to the next screen for entering the user's active directory Credential, but on entering those credentials, it always pops up an error of Authentication Failed. We tried with multiple user account but facing the same error.

As a resolution we tried to change the authentication on the Forms within the IIS Manager and enabled it for Enrollment Server still it didnt work.

Today we downgraded the servers back to SP4 and everything started to work fine.

Has anyone faced this issue as of yet or has any solutions to it.

Thanks,

Best Regards,

Rakshit Doshi

Hi, Rakshit.

SP5 no longer offers options for authentication at the IIS layer.  All authentication is handled by the Afaria Server component.  This is managed based on your settings in the Server > Configuration \ Security page in the Afaria Administrator.  Be sure these values are filled out properly for your environment.  To disable authentication now you would need to de-select the "Enable Authentication" checkbox on that page.
