TDMS 2006

Hi All,

I have a few queries regarding the TDMS 2006 that is currently avaiable.

1. Will the TDMS be a stadalone installation on another server, and then link the server with the source and the target system. By source I mean the Production system and Target will be the QA system.

OR

Can we add it to the existing system(Production/QA) and then accordingly do the configurations? If yes what will be the load on the system?

2. If it has to be as a standalone system then what should be the ideal system requirements(CPU/Usualable HDD space/RAM). And will the database grow accordingly as the data is transferred from PRD to QA system.

Regards,

Anand

Hello,

1) TDMS is just an add-on to R/3, it need not be a stand-alone installation. The Sender and TDMS system can be on the same system. However during some activities like Data transfer, access plan calculation will involve considerable load on the sender system. So it is better to split the central and sender system.

2) Please go through the note 890797 for required and recommended system settings for TDMS.
