Hi experts,
I am new to WM. I am reading about pre-allocated stocks. I am a bit confused between pre-allocated stock and Cross-docking functionality. Are these same ? Can you please help me understanding the difference between the two.
Regards,
Vivek

Hello
Basic difference is that preallocated is the option to send stock to some allocation until you reach the level you define (single one) it is usefull for example for production consumption; while cross-docking allows you to perform oportunistic decisions to send it to different locations according to needings. You can move it to production, to cost center or sales orders and part of it to racks, that flexibility helps you to improve materials flow. Preallocated stock doesn't give you that felxibility.
Best regards
