Hi,
I have read number of posts on this subject and know that restrsicted is for batch status and blocked stock is a stock type etc etc. However for a batch managed mtl, if I fail inspection and I need to quarantine it, do I need to post it to blocked stock AND make it restricted ? Or can I do either of the two ? Can a batch be put in blocked stock and also set to restrcited ? What purpose would it serve ?
Thanks
Hi GS,
When you take a UD with REJECT valuation, the system will ask to change the status of the batch to restricted. You cannot proceed without making this change.
For the same lot, you can post the stock in blocked stock or unrestricted stock depending on your requirement.

I believe most of business requirements are fully covered by IM (inventory management).
But some companies need more specific process for batch management.
For example...
-Batch determination for production order, sale order
-ATP check based on batch status
-Stock management and movement based on batch status
As you know the batch status functionality isn't activated in SAP default.
If the blocked stock is enough, I don't recommend you define a UD process with mixed restricted batch.
