stock issue at storage bin for 901

Hi,

We have stock at storage bin 901 - Fixed bin ( Not dynamic)  User is telling that we don't have stock physically & want to clear stock from storage bin 901. I see that we cannot do physical inventory at at bin 901. What are the other option available.

you cannot do physical inventory there  because you missed to allow it in customizing. It is certainly possible to do a physical count on interim storage bins if this customizing is completed.

Otherwise you need to move it into another storage type to do the count.

This does not reflect the reality and may cause even more confusion when the TO is printed or send to an RF device of a warehouse worker.

You can check if you have stock in the storage type 901 and clear it against storage 999 for differences.

Storage type 901 is for production receipt.System create Quant in this bin the moment you book the production(movement type setting 103 in WM). Before clearing the bin my suggestion is to get a manual physical count done for the material in side the warehouse. Once yu are sure that there is a difference in between the book stock and physical stock then only perform the Physical count in the system using the WM transaction (LI01N-LI04-LI11N-LI20--LI21)

As mentioned by Jurgen for interim storage type physical counting can be done provided the customizing is in place

From system perspective you are allowed to create the Physical inventory document however it is very difficult for the user to perform the inventory as physically you don't hv the bin marked in 901 area reason being during production receipt the Production order number becomes the bin number (As per movement  type setting)
