how to create a new client

Hi All,

This is the scenario..

1) Hostname a = netweaver installed.

2) Hostname a = sap xi installed.

when i try to log into the client 000( sap system) it works..

Question is how do i log into the sapXI system, is the client different..if so what do i need to do for that..

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Ravi,

To set up a new client, from the SAP standard menu choose

Tools->Administration ->Administration -> Client administration -> Client maintenance

Also, u may use scc4 transaction in 000 client

Use sap* user and then create client

Just an add-on: To create user for tht client

Hi

If I am not mistaken then your question is not how to create a client but to log on to XI system.

For loggin into the XI system you need to go through the Browser, you also have some transactions but most of the part is done <b>through browser</b>.

http://<server>:5<instance_no>00:/sld --> System Landscap Directory

http://<server>:5<instance_no>00:/rep --> XI Tools

http://<server>:5<instance_no>00:/rwb --> Runtime Workbench

http://<server>:5<instance_no>00/ExchangeProfile -->The Exchange Profile

There are more but intially the above mentioned will work.

Some <b>transaction codes</b> for XI in SAP System:

SXMB_ADM --> Integration Engine Administration

SXMB_IFR --> To launch Integration Builder from SAP

SLDCHECK --> Test SLD Connection

There are more transactions which can be used.

No need to make a separate client to access XI. If XI is installed then you will be able to access it using the above methods.

Make sure you make a entry in the hosts file before you run the links in browser using the server name.

This should clear your doubt about XI & R/3.

Hi Ravi

Create New client used tcode SCC4.its show t00 table and you New Entry enter client number and name then you choose options. Now when u create new client login with user sap* password pass.

and if you are not login this client used Tcode RZ10 in client 001 and set the profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar set its 0.

Now you login new client and als copy the client SCCL t-code from 000

rewards points if helpfull.
