How to enable warning for duplicate item in SO

Hi Experts,

Could you give me an idea about how to ensure that the users would get a warning when they try to enter any item already entered in a SO, at the time of SO creation/modification?

I had been searching and found some discussions about the user exit which triggers at the time of line item insertion in VA01/02, which is the FORM USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAP. Could someone give me some code snippets which will enable the said warning for a duplicate entry of material in a sales order?

There is no technical forum (ABAP) exclusively for SD but common to all functional streams and you have to post it there.
