Issue with PI SUM upgrade process

Hello,

I'm currently stuck.

I have been upgrading our QA PI system to NW7.40.  I managed this fine with our Development system but unfortunately I've hit a problem that I can't seem to work out so hoping people here might be able to help.

Basically SUM has got to the step  MAIN_SHDRUN/PARDIST_SHD.

Unfortunately it had now fallen over with the following:

2EEDA122 Error generating the program for "SEPM_SDDL_V_GIH" " "
2EEDA476 Code for creating view "SEPM_SDDL_V_GIH" could not be generated
2EEDA471 Result "SEPM_SDDL_V_GIH": Action: "CRE" Mode flag: "E" Return code: "95"

It also gives the same message for SEPM_SDDL_V_GII and SEPM_SDDL_V_SOIH.

I have investigated and found that these views exist in our DEV system but don't in QA so I tried using the DEV DDL to create the tables in QA but that then just changes the error message to:

2EEDA122 Error generating the program for "SEPM_SDDL_V_GIH" " "
2EEDA476 Code for creating view "SEPM_SDDL_V_GIH" could not be generated
2EEDA471 Result "SEPM_SDDL_V_GIH": Action: "CNV" Mode flag: "E" Return code: "95"

I found this note:

http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/2028165

Which suggests upgrading the SUM version to SP 10 and trying again..... trouble is I have SUM SP 11

I suspect restoring and starting again might be my only option which is a pain but if that's what I have to do fair enough.  My concern is, will it just happen again, in which case that would be several hours wasted.

Anyway, any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

Hi,

I just had the same issue and in my case the solution was downgrading kernel to 741.

Updating to the latest SUM version made no difference in my case(SP11pl8)

Hi Daniel,

Raise a high incident with SAP. Let them look and suggest once.

Might be they can cast some magic on this and you can proceed without any reset.

Hi Daniel,

As mentioned in the note, Did you selected the option "Accept non-severe errors" in the ACT_UPG phase?

Unfortunately yes I did.

Hi Daniel,

Then we don't have any other option have to follow SAP suggested.

Maintaining the values manually might fix the issue however we don't know the consequences as these are views.  Hope we can reset the upgrade in this phase.

Thank you for the advice. I think I probably will need to start the process again.  To be honest I don't actually need the Shadow instance anyway so hopefully it might cut a bit of the time off the process.
