Fiori with SAP NW 7.4 - use SAP Gateway integrated or on a different server

Dear all,

We are about to upgrade from NW 7.02 to NW 7.4 and upgrade also our SAP NW Portal from 7.02 to 7.4. One of big advantages announced for SAP NW 7.4 is the SAP Gateway integrated without needing to install it on a separated server.

What is your experience and suggestions on this topic? Do you recommend to configure the gateway on the same application server of SAP ECC (backend)?

Please share your thoughts on this one.

Hi Andre,

Generally we recommend a hub deployment (separate Gateway) and not an embedded architecture.  I would recommend you look around for those two terms to see people's thoughts and experiences with the two different approaches.
