Hi,
I had a doubt, I have completed C_HANATEC131. I was looking for E_HANAINS131 certification on following link https://training.sap.com/shop/certification/e_hanains131-sap-certified-technology-specialist-edition...
and if you read description it says " This certification is issued to candidates that successfully passed the certification exam for the "SAP Certified Technology Associate - SAP HANA" (C_HANATEC_1 or C_HANATEC131).
So does this mean HANATEC131 certified associates dont have to give HANAINS131 to be able to do HANA installations?
If I remember correctly earlier it was mandatory to have additional installation certification. Not sure if this has been changed recently.
Any inputs appreciated.
Thanks,
Suhel

Hi Suhel,
You can only perform SAP certified installation if you are certified with E_HANAINSxxx.
The E_HANAINSxxx certifications has as prerequisite the C_HANATECxxx certification.
TEC covers all the DBA topics, including installation and update.
INS covers only installation and upgrade

It is mentioned in the SAP HANA TDI FAQ (
Chapter "SAP HANA TAILORED DATA CENTER INTEGRATION WITH ENTERPRISE STORAGE", 1:
<quote>
The SAP HANA installation needs to be done by a person who successfully passed the exam “SAP Certified Technology Specialist (Edition 2015) – SAP HANA Installation” (E_HANAINS151). SAP HANA hardware partners and their employees do not need this certificate. However, companies, or their employees, who are sub-contractors of SAP HANA hardware partners must be certified to perform HANA SW installations.

Thanks for all the responses, I appreciate the clarification.
I do however have an issue with the new restrictions as they appear to be a cash grab and there is no real reason why, with adequate documentation, anyone can't just do the install. I have done dozen of SAP server installs (including database) with no certification to date so why now? In addition, I am buying certified hardware, the software installs are essentially wizard driven and there is nothing revolutionary about HANA or SUSE so why ?
