Session going logout for every 10 mins even after setting value to 10H

Dear Experts,

As per the note 27320 - keepalive and gui_auto_logout profile param we have configured the parameters for rdisp/keepalive to 10 hours and rdisp/gui_auto_logout to 0.

But still the sessions are going logout for every 10 mins.

Kindly suggest on this.

Thanks,

Bharath.

Hello Barath,

which sessions are logged out - only GUI sessions, or other types of sessions are also disconnected after 10 minutes? What is the exact message, which the user gets in this case and which error do you see in the corresponding trace (work process, gateway, ICM (if also HTTP sessions are affected)?

Regards,
Alwina

Dear Alwina,

We are getting error

Error No                         10054          /     10061 WSAECONNRESET: Connection reset by peer

As per below thread it says configuration need to be adjusted in firewall TTL (Time to live or Timeout) for Port 3299 to specified seconds.

HTTP connections are not getting terminated as only SAP Gui sessions are getting terminated.

Kindly suggest.

Thanks,

Bharath.

Hi,

Would you please go through the below sap note, if that helps you in overcoming the issue..?

413330 - Network timeouts

155147 - WinNT: Connection reset by peer

Hi,

Check the parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time, by default its value will be 600 which means 10 Min.

Please change its value to 0 after that your problem may resolve.

This parameter can be changed on the fly using RZ11 but you need to set on all apps servers but this will be changed to original after restart.

If you want to set permanently changed it using RZ10.

Dear Rajesh,

I already mentioned the issue is with network restrictions at firewall level.

Our network people resolved the issue..

Thanks,

Bharath.

Dear Bharath

If you have stopped / started the SAP instance to apply the change of rdisp/gui_auto_logout and you still have sessions logging out, check out SAP note

1519484 - How to analyze network disconnections shown in system log (BC transaction SM21)

The default value for keepalive should be fine by the way! ~1200 in other words

Best regards
