Company code XXXX without FM area activated for finance update purposes

Hello,

While entering a journal entry using FB01 user is getting an error message, "Company Code XXXX without FM area activated for finance update purposes". Please see the below screen shots.

Please suggest what needs to be done to resolve this issue.

Have you assigned FM area to co.code? Please check it in the t.code.OF18.

Pl. check T. code OF16.

I assume the co. code is wrongly activated for FM (Update Flag checked in T. code OF16) and there is no FM assigned to it.

update flag is not checked in OF16.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked OF37 but it is related to update of FM area but in our company code no FM area was assigned.
