Hi all,

I am looking for some help with the installation of Solution manager 4.0. We are looking into installing this across the whole landscape. Have any of you out there installed and configured this how long should it take to do this on tier in the landscape. Is this a very difficult product too install any recommendations and tips?

Hello John,

For the installation get the latest installion box, SOLMAN 4.0SR2, as this avoid you to apply a lot of patches after the installation

The installation takes between 3 to 5 days, depending of your HW capacity.

The sapinst will install ABAP+Java stack directly, so it is not neccesary to install the Java Add-in to the ABAP side like in the rest of NW2004s solutions.

For the configuration, calculate 2-3 days to fullfill the SPRO activities and 2 hours to link each satellite to solman if the satellite are update enought at patch level.

Please for the configuration please have a look to service.sap.com/rkt-solman iTutors, this is the faster way to understand the configuration process.

If you want to install also the solman diagnostic tool consider another 2-3 days, and 2 hours per agent to install.
