Duplicate check for customer mass data load

Does the migration workbench used for customer mass upload include a duplicate check (same built-in check used when creating customer online in C4C)?

Hi Thiery,

Yes, when you perform manual Customer Load using C4C Data Migration tool, if there are duplicate Customers, it will give you an error/warning about duplicates.

Hi Ankur,

please note that only duplicated IDs are being checked during the C4C data migration or migration simulation step.
The system will not perform in the migration workbench the duplicate check logic which considers and weights the content of different fields of the customer (name, address, etc).

Bummer. That's not really helpful, isn't it?

So am I right in assuming the only solution to dedup data is to do that as part of the data cleansing process outside C4C? This process could include custom calls to C4C depending on the situation.

What Bernd said is correct.

And yes, currently all the Dedup work should be done outside C4C, precisely on your legacy system itself before you perform the data load.

do we have any experiences about the performance using Data Migration - Enhance already existing records?

eg.: enhance 100.000 customers - how long would that need?
