SAP HANA Declustering delaying Payroll processing

Former Member

Hi All,

Our client is implementing HANA for running payroll and time reports on a payroll day, and they have a question why declustering of payroll data would slow down the system performance during the time payroll is executed. The HANA team led by SAP here says there will be a negative effect on the system on the payroll day by 10%, as the HANA system declusters the payroll data. I just wanted to know if this is expected, and also if 10% delay is found in other companies.

Thanks,

Sanjeev

Hi

I have the following doubts

1. Declustering of payroll will done at which stage ( I mean at the time of payroll live run or after data gets stored in RT tables )

Generally while we decluster the data , there will be impact on payroll performance.

ie :- Execution of reports which have dependency on RT tables.

SAP has to come up with proper Information and work around for the following.

Hi Sanjeev,

did you manage to validate this estimation of HANA downside effect on payroll execution?

This is particularly interesting topic to learn, as my customer has the same roadmap to start with HANA and they have the same concern on payroll execution performance...

Best,

Georgy
