Dear Team,

Due to performance appraisal one of client has updated the organisation structure. One manager (relationship A012) has 20 different –different position reports to them. The manager directly report to Director.

Now this position (manager) promoted to new position (Sr. manager) and the same 20 positions report to them.

We have created the new position (Sr. manager) in same organisation unit and assign relationship (A012) & assign same 20 positions report to (A002) sr. manager.

We have run the promotion action and assign the new position (sr. manager) while running the report we found that all the 20 positions directly report to director.

Please suggest!

Dear Team,

In my example if old position (manager) is not delimited & this position is already manager (A012) now this position is promoted to new position (sr manager) and having relationship (A012).

what is impact of old position?

kindly suggest!

Hi Rakesh

For the employees report correctly to the new position (Senior Manager), you need to ensure below steps are taken care of:

Old position (Manager)

a. Holder relationship of the person is delimited from previous position (Manager) A/B 008 relationship should be delimited

b. Reporting relationship is delimited from previous position A/B 002

c. Manages relationship is delimited from previous position A/B 012

New Positions (Senior Mgr)

a. New position has been created (wef form required date)

b. Holder relationship of the person is created with the new position wef required date.

c. Reporting relationship for all the reportees is now created with this position

d. Manages relationship is now assigned to this position

Regarding your question:

Both the holder and manager relationship needs to be delimited from previous position and assigned to new position so as to ensure that correct details are being reflected in the systems and that no issues come up with respect to the workflows.

Hi Rakesh,

Explaining it with snap shot what Praneeth has told. Consider one of the 20 reportees as position 21068 and it is reporting to managerial position 71612

Holder of 71612 is moved to another positon say 75425 from 01/01/2014. The above relationship (from 09/22/2013) should be delimited as of 12/31/2013 and new A 002 relationship should be created from 01/01/2014 reporting to 75424.

Go to main screen of PP01 of 21068, select Relationship Infotype and click on create infotype

In the next screen give the start date as 01/01/2014 and relationship as A 002 and ID of related object as 75425 and when you save the data we will get a message that previous reports to relationship will be delimited (which is what we want). Click on Yes, previous record will be end dated and new A 002 record will be created as below.

These 20 employees report to AM & AM report to sr manager, sr manager report to director

how to delimit the old position (manager).

To delimit relationship to old position go to t-code PP01 give the position (20 employee's) click on relationship  info type and select on delimit, then system take in to the all relationship's, select the old position and give the delimitation date and save.

and check any direct reporting is their in the relationship's. (20 emp. position to Director position)

have you cross checked that 20 employee's position is reports to newly created Sr. Manager position ?

and delimit the old relationship report's to manager (old position)

Hi Rakesh,

if the data is reflecting correctly in OM side and issue with PA side i.e. when you check the Org details through info type 0001 and if there is an reporting issue  then you can run RHINTE reports to sync both PA and OM data .
