SE11: create indexes on DSO table and transport issue

Former Member

Hi experts

I have created an index on an DSO table, transaction SE11.

There was no prompt to select the package, it was automatically stored in $TMP.

Via GOTO --> Object directory entry there is no possiblity to change the package.

I only found this blog:

http://scn.sap.com/thread/170492

Does anyone have an idea if there is a valid transport connection for this issue?

Thanks

Thomas

I think for DSO, we will create index at dso level itself.

Go to your DSO-->right click-->change--> in DSO maintenance screen you see options like below.

Settings

Data fields

Key fields

Navigational Attributes

Indexes-->right click-->create index. try thisw ay to create index and collect into TR.

This is also a very good explaination how to create secondary indexes on DSOs:

I guess this is standard settings controlled by BASIS team. Just check with your BASIS team once on this.

Rgds..

Hi Thomas,

I think if it is not allowing you to change then this is standard one. Only for custom you can do like this.

Hi there all

It is a custom table, non-content table.

It doesn't allow me to change it. I have also asked SAP Basis and they haven't faced this problem in ERP, but in BW....

Any ideas

Thanks

With client approval can't you create indexes directly on prod dso tables?

consider above suggestion  as last option.

I can create indexes on custom (DSO) tables, but it is automatically assigned to $TMP. I cannot change the package from $TMP to a customer-defined package, this is my problem.

Hi,

while changing any thing system wil ask the Transport rqeust by default $TMP.

but you need to save the customer pacakge ex- ZBW/ZBI.

other collect the one more TR dso index creation then change the cusotme package

Thanks,

Phani.
