Crystal Reports 2013 Server State is Empty

Hi,

I am unable to start my Crystal Reports 2013 servers in BI 4.1 SP3. The state is displayed as blank. See screenshots below.

Any thoughts on what is going wrong and how to start the servers?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Is it a fresh/new installation? I have seen such issues in the past and able to resolve it by one of below:

Few action plans you can try as below:

1. Create problematic servers again.

2. Re-create Server Intelligence Agent.

3. If above two steps doesn't work, then I will suggest to repair installation.

Hi Mahesh,

Thanks for your reply. It is an upgrade installation from BI 4.1 SP2 to SP3.

I've tried recreating the servers again but I still have the same issue. I will try recreating the SIA next and let you know how I get on.

Thanks,

Chris

Sure Chris. You can refer below SAP KBA to recreate SIA.

Hi Mahesh,

I have recreated the SIA node but this has not solved the problem. I do not have a repair option when I select the update program in the programs and features window in the control panel. I only have the uninstall option.

Any more ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

Hello Chris,

What is the outcome of repair install?

Hi Mahesh,

The repair installation has not resolved the issue.

I will now try Mahipal's suggestion as we have also removed SP4 and gone back to SP3 due to Xcelsius issues in SP4.

Mahipal suggested:

"I faced similar issue after we rolled back SP4 to SP3 code. The only fix I found was to recreate a new node and clone the crystal from this node to the existing node and delete the new node. Repair option did not help in my case...Keep us posted if you found an alternative"

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks Chris for confirmation.

Could you try one more steps before you un-install SP4?

Please take a look at below SAP KBA:

http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1700180

As per SAP note, replace the lib folder present in the location <BO_Install_folder>\SAP
BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java
with one from a working environment (if exists).

Thanks Mahesh,

We uninstalled SP4 in June and we do not have a working environment anywhere else at the moment.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Christian

Cloning the server should do the trick.

Creating a new server also has the same problem.

Don't know why cloning seems to resolve the problem

Hi Anupam,

Unfortunately cloning the existing servers did not work and creating a new server does not also work.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Chris

Hi Mahipal,

Thanks for the information. This is what we have experienced as well. We have rolled back from BI 4.1 SP4 to BI 4.1 SP3 because our Xcelsius dashboards did not work in SP4.

I will now try what you have suggested to see if I can get the Crystal2013 servers running.

Thanks,

Chris

Hello,

Could you please try to recreate the Crystal server before recreating the SIA?

Refer to this kba:

Do the repair on the installation.

Hi Jawar,

I do not have the repair option available to me when I select the program (SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 SP3 update) in the control program. I only have uninstall. I wonder if that is because it is an update and not a full install?

You have to perform repair on base install, not on update.

Thanks Jawahar,

I am running it now.
