SAP BW Source system issues Post DB refresh - we do have wrong Source systems for "PSA Processes" in QA after DB refresh from PROD

Hello Experts,

We recently did a DB refresh from PRD to QA. BDLS was successful.

We are on SAP NetWeaver 7.3 with SAPKW73008 and DB2 10.05.0003

In source system "QA" as pre-DB refresh activity, we took backup of below tables and imported them again in QA after refresh is done (Below tables list is not the full list, just took only RS* tables as these are related to BW):

RSADMINA

RSBASIDOC

RSECACHK

RSECACTB

RSECTAB

RSLOGSYSDEST

RSPOR_T_PORTAL

1. Can someone help me where should i change the source system settings?

2. Going forward, please suggest me the full list of tables that i should take backup in source system to avoid such issues

Thanks,

Subbu

Hello Subbu,

•After running BDLS check if there are any inactive objects. If yes activate them.
•Correct RFC destinations
•Change source system assignment
•Reset RFC destination for process chain transport postprocessing. Use transaction RSTPRFC to correct the host.
• You can refer Phase 6: Final Activities in Target Environment from SAP note  886102: System Landscape Copy for SAP NetWeaver BW

Hi

Did you run report RBDLS2LS instead of transaction BDLS?

By running RBDLS2LS, one can speed up the conversion by running several in parallel as mentioned in SAP note 1547980. Bear in mind that not all the tables are converted with this report. If you did run RBDLS2LS, then make sure to to run tranaction BDLS in order to convert special BW tables.

Refer also to SAPNOTE "1831378 - BDLS does not convert BW specific tables"

Hello ,

Did you run BDLS after system copy in the target system?

If not you need to run this in order to convert the source logical systems into target ones.

Hello,

Thank you all for the help

I have just validated and made sure that all the below steps are completed successfully except the l;ast one regarding the  RSadmina table.

We did not do anything on this table. Before refresh we took an extract of this table and imported it again after refresh.

Do we need to do anything manually on this table?

Also, could you please confirm if we are missing any table lists that we need to export before going for refresh? (I have mentioned the list of tables that we exported before doing refresh)

Step1 -BDLS - Logical system name conversion

Step 2 -Check partner profiles are active

Step 3- RFC's are working with connection and authorization test

Step 4 -Source system restore

Step5 -Maintain table RSadmina if not mainatined in BW system

Thanks,

Subbu

Hi

You have to complete the Post system copy task in DB refresh system and then do the connection restore as mention in the below link

Hi Subbu

1. Can someone help me where should i change the source system settings?

In BW system transaction code RSA1 - Select the Source systems -  select the QA source - restore the connection  during this it will ask you to type the BW RFC user id & password of Source & target systems

Once the connection are corrected then you can perform the extraction from QA source system

Hello,

Thank you.

Sorry, if i am not clear.

We had already done the above mentioned steps and the extraction was fine.

However, we couldnt see ONLY the PSAs source system not converted.

One example below for your reference for a PSA:

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Subbu
