Dear All,

Greetings!!

We are in the process of installing Solman 7.1 with Sybase ASE 15.7 on SUSE Linux 11 SP03. During phase 50 we are getting an error like "Could not start instance service of Instance". I have attached the Error and the Inst_Dev.log screenshot for your reference.

Please help us with some suggestion or solution at the earliest.

Thanks,

Ela

Hi Elan,

Kindly run the below command and re-execute the sapinst.

sapcpe pf=<instance of ASCS>

I think /usr/sap/ASM/ASCS/exe is empty.

Hi Chatur,

Thanks for your reply. The issue had been resolved.

Yes, /usr/sap/ASM/ASCS/exe was empty actually & we copied the Kernel files to this directory & retired again & its working fine now.

Thanks again.

Regards,

Ela

Add service/protectedwebmethods = NONE in your instance profile and try again.

Restart service manually using above command shown in logs

If this is not working, upload the current stage logs in zip format.

Please do not upload pictures.

Hi Srivastava,

Thanks for your reply.

Added the parameter to the instance profile & took a restart & manually started the service but still no luck.

Actually /usr/sap/ASM/ASCS/exe was empty & we copied the Kernel files to this directory & retired again & it worked.
