Hi Experts,
Here we are using a local mail server called Postmaster Enterprise which does all the functionalities of a full-fledged mails server. For sending mails using this mail server, a user id and password is required as the mail server is configured with authenticated SMTP and does not permit open relaying i.e. relaying mails without authentication. In our present SAP system, no option is found for giving the user id and password for sending the mails, only Mail Host and Port Number can be entered for an SMTP node in SAP. Hence the Postmaster Enterprise cannot be used for sending mails triggered from SAP servers.
Is there is any option for sending mails using authenticated SMTP from SAP so that this relay server can be discontinued and the Postmaster Enterprise itself can be configured in SAP.
Hi Jaideep

Hi Jaideep,
You can definitely use authenticated SMTP configuration in Postmaster.
There will not be any additional changes on SAP side to use Postmaster. You can just authenticate SAP server on Postmaster and things should work as desired.
Hope this helps.
