Reorder point planning at the SLoc level for WM

Hello Experts,

We're trying to implement a replenishment strategy for several materials within a plant.  Kanban will be used for some materials but we believe a reorder point strategy would be best at the storage location level for other materials.  The goal is to have the system automatically create stock transfers from storage location ABC and move the material to storage location XYZ using reorder point planning at storage location XYZ to trigger the demand.  Our inventory is WM managed, but we believe an IM solution is our only possibility.

Additionally, we may need to satisfy the demand from a different warehouse.

Plant: 0001

Storage locations: 0001 (demand) & 0002 (supply)

Warehouse: 001 (shared with the two SLocs)

Storage types: various

Storage bins: various

I welcome any suggestions.

Regards!

Hello

It is possible to run a simple reorder point for a storage location planned separately.

On tab MRP4 of the material master (make sure that you enter MM02 using the plant and the storage location) you will find the field "sloc MRP indicator":

If you define the value 2 for the storage location, it will be planned separately with a reorder point procedure. It is also possible to define a special procurement type.

Please observe that it is a very simple reorder point procedure which does not consider external requirements. See question 6 of the FAQ note 550954 - FAQ: Consumption-based planning.
