Terminate CAL instance error - AWS credentials

Former Member

Hi there,

I'm on a slightly misleading 'free' Fiori course via openSAP.

Once I realised 'free' meant that I may be charged hundreds of dollars by AWS I canceled/closed my AWS account.

Unfortunately I can't seem to now delete my CAL instance because it's trying to verify my credentials with my non-existent AWS account

Not quite sure how to get me out of this? Is there anyone that can help?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Hi Rob,

do you remember what instance size Fiori needed? if it's 68.1 or less there may be a way to save using spot instances, but it does require some AWS adjustments like saving your AMI, creating TCP ports, security, etc.

sorry to hear about your (cloud) disappointment.

thx,

greg

Thanks Greg.

Do you know how I can terminate this instance?

Hi Rob,

The “undefined” instance stayed in SAP CAL although no VMs left in AWS after the terminate operation. The SAP CAL Team is working on a solution to clean-up such instances.

Apologies for the inconvenience,

Stanimir

Hi Rob,

The "undefined" instance was cleaned up. You should be able to create a new instance.

If it fails again please hover over the exclamation mark to see the error message from AWS.

Best regards,

Stanimir
