Need Advices from Everyone

Hi Everyone,

I kinda need some advice on how to perform a fresh installation of SAP ECC 6 latest enhancement pack 7 and SAP Netweaver 7.4.

Currently our landscape is using SOLMAN 7.1.

I've tried to read the master installation guide but seems it still hard for me to digest as of now hence I'm deciding to ask here.

1. I have doubt on which one to perform on the installation first, whether Netweaver 7.4 first or SAP ECC 6.0? I read ECC 6.0 is using Netweaver as the platform so I need to install NW 7.4 first?

2. how do I add the ECC 6.0 to SOLMAN? do I need to add in SOLMAN before the installation first or the way around?

would someone enlighten me on my enquiries,

Thank you for all your guidance,

Regards,

Ura

Hi Ura,

EHP7 ECC6.0 is based on Netweaver 7.4 platform.

You don't have to installed any thing separately. All comes in combined packages which are available in SAP service market place underĀ  Software Download.

To install anything in SAP, the best way is to start by reading the guides available under http://service.sap.com/instguides

Once you have the guide, you get the information of what all is needed and how to proceed.

After the installation, you should also apply latest SP stack to your system. For that you need to connect your ECC system to solution manager.

You 1st connect your ECC system to the SLD which in connected to LMDB, which is in solman - use RZ70

For steps - Refer http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SMSETUP/Connect+Managed+Systems+to+SLD

Then you need to define product system for your ECC Technical system in LMDB

Refer -

http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SMSETUP/Maintenance+of+Product+in+the+System+Landscape

Create Product System Information - SAP Solution Manager - SAP Library

Once this is done you can generate the stack using MOPZ and update your system.

For monitoring purpose, you need to connect diagnostic agents on solution manager.

Refer - http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SMSETUP/Diagnostics+Agents

And perform a managed system configuration.
