Hi, We are implementing APO 5.0. I am trying to Create Time series objects for Planning Area 9ASNP05, but getting the following Run Time Error
We have used Support Package 10
Runtime Errors PERFORM_TOO_MANY_PARAMETERS
Exception CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_NOT_FOUND
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_NOT_FOUND', was
not caught in procedure "RSS_TEMPLATE_INSTANTIATE" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is: A PERFORM was used to call the routine "INSTANTIATE" of the program
"GP_MET_RSSG_HEADER_COMMENT".
This routine contains 15 formal parameters, but the current call
contains 16 actual parameters.
Any
We are having the same problem...
These (2) OSS notes have the exact problem description, but we are already on SAP_BASIS SAPKB70011 and SCM SAPKY50008.
So these 2 notes are already applied.
I am waiting for SAP's response to my oss message.

Hello !
We're having exactly the same problem, and are also already on the described support packages (SAP BASIS 70011, and SCM 50008). But we noticed that the considered program has been changed by SAP on the 6th of April, that is, only 3 weeks ago.
Did you get some news from SAP ? We are also preparing an OSS message, but if you already got an answer...
Thanks and Regards,
Caroline Roch

Hello all,
A colleague of mine working on APO for another customer and meeting the same issue found the solution, with the help of SAP people :
1/ Go to transaction se37
2/ Run the function module RSS_METAPROGRAM_GENERATE
3/ You will be asked to enter some parameters :
For I_PROGRAM_CLASS enter RSS_HEADER_COMMENT
For I_TEMPLATE enter RSS_HEADER_COMMENT_TEMPLATE
For I_FORCE_COMPILATION enter 1
4/ Execute
This simple manipulation solved our problems, I'm now able to creat CVCs, activate DataSources, and everything that didn't work before.
I hope it will work on your side as well !

Just got a reply to the OSS message I raised with SAP :
There is a problem with generating the program
out of the template in the BW function module RSS_PROGRAM_INSERT,
a syntax error is raised. This FM is called via RSS_PROGRAM_GENERATE,
RSS_TEMPLATE_INSTANTIATE.The template is /SAPAPO/TS_PSTRU_SAMPLE.
The note 998705 describes this. Please read the description in the note
carefully and implement the coding correction.
Also note 998720 for /SAPAPO/TS_PSTRU_SAMPLE should be implemented.
I implemented the above 2 OSS Notes and it has fixed our problem.

Hi,
My suggestion would be to first run the following reports in APO system
(1) /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK - Live Cache Consistency Check
(2) /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE -- Initialize the Planning Area
Let me know If this has worked.

Hi
I am getting exactly the same error, on SCM 5.0 SR2, running on Windows 2003 64 BIT & SQL 2000.
Conditions for error:
Using transaction:
/SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN
Select: Planning Object Structures
Short Dump occurs if you either:
1. Attempt to deactivate an active Planning Object Structure
2. Attempt to create a Characteristic Combination
Gives a runtime error shortdump PERFORM_TOO_MANY_PARAMETERS
Error analysis:
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_NOT_FOUND', was
not caught in
procedure "RSS_TEMPLATE_INSTANTIATE" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by a
RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
A PERFORM was used to call the routine "INSTANTIATE" of the program
"GP_MET_RSSG_HEADER_COMMENT".
This routine contains 15 formal parameters, but the current call
contains 16 actual parameters.
Has anyone seen this before?
Did you find a solution Bhavesh ?
Thanks.

Hi. You are getting the same message.
Actually we had installed SR10 & still it was not working. Finally we reinstalled SCM 5.0 without using any support package & it worked.
So we have started the configuration & we will see if we can install the support package at a later stage.
Hope it works.
Regards,
Bhavesh
