Hi Team,

Currently we are upgrading our BO server from 4.0 to 4.1; we are using the APACHE TOMCAT server version 6.0? Please suggest if I can go with this or its better to go with Apache Tomcat 7.0, Please refer any good read about this or any specific reason.?

Thanks

Rishav

Hi Rishav,

If you are using default Tomcat that comes with BI then it will be automatically upgraded to Tomcat 7 when you upgrade from BI 4.0 to 4.1.

If you are using separate Tomcat 6 then it may or may not be upgraded to Tomcat 7 as the upgrade would be external and depends on your choice, however you will need to redeploy WAR files on Tomcat after BI upgrade.

I would recommend to upgrade to Tomcat 7 as you would get latest version of Tomcat and also Tomcat 7 is default version in BI 4.1.

Hi All

Also is it possible to use the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or we need to upgrade it to SQL Server 2008.

Hi Rishav,

As per BI 4.1 supported platforms guide the SQL Server 2005 is not supported with BI 4.1. Hence you should use SQL Server 2008. Please refer page 12 from latest BI 4.1 PAM below.
