Hello Yoro,

the get it right:
You installed the DCN client and it starts up, when Outlook is started. When exectly does it stop working?

Does it ask for your credentials?

Do you see the sync popup coming up, when sync starts?

Do you get any error message in a bubble next the the windows clock or in a popup?

Please try also the following:

Call the Service URL directly in a web browser to see if the service can be reached.

The URL depends on your system's setup, but could be something like:

https://<host>:<port>/sap/opu/odata/crmgws/gateway_sync/$metadata

--> The messge in the log "No connection to Remoteserver" could mean that there's a connection issue to the gateway system...

Best regards,

Alex

Hi Alexander,

Yes a Popup comes up and get this error.

I am also getting TimeOut if I try to ping my SAP CRM Server.

The Gateway doest not seem to work properly.

Is it possible to remove all the installed Add.ons and make the installation again?

Best

Yoro

Hi Alexander,

I remove the https and try it with just http and I got access and this error.

Service /sap/opu/odata/crmgws/gateway_sync/$metadata call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available. The termination occurred in system CXY with error code 404 and for the reason Not found. Please select a valid URL. If it is a valid URL, check whether service /sap/opu/odata/crmgws/gateway_sync/$metadata is active in transaction SICF. If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

I think I have to activate the services.

Hello Yoro,

thanks for that information.

I aggree, looks like there are connection issues to your Gateway or between Gateway and Backend.

To take your last question first:
Unfortunately, it isn't possible to uninstall the AddOns again. But maybe it's not necessary...

Do you use a separate Gateway system or do you have Gateway installed directly on your SAP CRM system?

Have you followed the Administration Guide - mainly the steps where it is described how to register the service?

Is the Service Endpoint activated in SICF?

Is this your first use of Gateway? Or are there otherwise maybe other OData Services you can call from your local machine with the browser testwise?

Best regards,

Alex

Hello Yoro,

yes, you should check that.

In addition, you should check the SSL configuration / settings for HTTPS connections in Netweaver/Gateway, as SAP Desktop Connection only works with HTTPS for security reasons.

That means you need a valid configuration so that HTTPS connections to Gateway work without errors (that includes valid certificates etc.).

Best regards,

Alex

Hi Alexander,

No we have an own gateway system installed on the SAP CRM Server. I mean if I open spro in SAP CRM, Netweaver Gateway is listed there and I can also see the Odata Channel etc...

So this is my first use of Gateway and but I think I have to look at this chapter a little more.

Hi Alexander,

I activited now the necessary services. I also could test the Gateway Client but I get an error:

Status code 500 with an internal Error message.

In The error protocol I see the following message:

The function call of /IWBEP/FM_MGW_MED_LOAD failed; a field may have been assigned to the parameter ES_MSG_CONTAINER_H whose typ should be a field etc..

Status code 500 with an internal Error message.

Hello,

what happens when you try to request that URL with your webbrowser?

The Function Module  /IWBEP/FM_MGW_MED_LOAD seems to be part of the Gateway Client...

So maybe the message is different when calling from external client...

BR,

Alex
