Remote Access to SMP/Control Center

Former Member

Hi!

We have recently installed SMP 2.3 in a server to deploy an application previously meant to run over SUP.

The application hasn't been deployed just yet because of different business-related issues.

At some point we will need to start working over it, though, and we are woindering if it is possible to access remotely to SMP/Control Center or if the access is possible only through the physical server. If the first case is possible, could you advise as to how to do it/configure it?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

As Jitendra mentioned, you can access SMP Admin console from a different system/network. You have to open the required port to access it. You can also create multiple users with different roles to access the admin console using PreConfiguredLoginModule so different users can login to SCC at a time to check the logs or troubleshoot an issue.

Thank you, Jitendra an Midhun!

Just to clarify, in order to access to the system, does anything need to be installed in the "client" machines or is it possible to do it through a web service or portal?

Felipe

If server machine (SMP) is in different network then you may have to use either citrix or VPN to access it from your local machine.

I dont think so you need to install anything in "client" machine. I guess no.

Hi Felipe,

You don't need to install anything in the local machine to access the admin console. The admin console is web based, so you can access SCC from a web browser if the required ports are opened.

Thank you very much for your answers.

So to summarize, the Control Center should work via web browser by entering something like:

https://server.hostname:8283

Thank you again

Hi Felipe,

I believe SMP 2.3 SCC (SAP Control center) listerns on port 8283. If this port can be enabled from your local machine to access server machine you can very much take remote.

From your machine, you can telnet: serverip 8283
