It is said that switching of valuation area from Plant to Company code or vice versa is not possible. However if such switching is absolutely necessary then it can be done by DATA CONVERSION. Could somebody tell me what this 'Data conversion' mean.?

It is explained in OSS note 8696 - Valuation level can no longer be maintained
that you have to contact SAP. Consultants will analyze your system and develop an individual solution for you.

Generally, Valuation level can't be changed once it has been set.
if you want to chane, you want to keep all constraints and impact and it is not easy task.
you want to contact SAP. They will evalute the data and they can be give solution.
Note:- for this company need to pay huge money to consultants.
